It has a mother of pear dial face and Swarovski crystals around it. It looks really beautiful. The crystal is still scratch-free, even though I use this watch a lot. Moreover, I am a klutz and always bumping into things, so the watch has received a bump, or five, as well.This is an Eco-Drive watch, which means that it does not run on battery but on a solar cell. That means no batteries to change! The watch could technically last a lifetime. Even when I don't wear this watch for a while (when another watch becomes my go-to watch), it remains powered. I have not had an issue with it yet. I can say much for its beauty, however! The photo does not do this watch justice. The gorgeous face with its rainbow of shimmering pastels, merely looks gray in the photos. The clasp is very easy to open and close with one hand, so you don't need someone's help or contortionist skill to decide when you want to wear it. Every last crystal on my watch sparkles like a perfect diamond. If you think this watch is beautiful in the photos, just wait until you see it in person!
