The pearl face shows different colors when it moves in the light. Some descriptions of this watch I found on line said that the gold was rose gold so I was afraid it would be too "rosey" in color but it's not. It's not a harsh gold color either...just right. I already own another Citizen watch that is eco drive so I know I will love that feature. I'm looking forward to having the glow in the dark hands and the date feature. The size of the watch is also a good feature. It's not too small or too big so it will work well as an every day watch that can be dressed up or down. I have been using one Eco-Drive watch since 2001 -- I bought my old Eco-Drive at much higher price back then (somewhat thicker more substantial and smooth band, though). It still looks the way it looked 11 years ago and never stopped working. I will keep using this old one, too, as it looks like it will last forever. I was rough on my watch, too. So, I am very confident in Eco-Drive.This new one is very feminine (the reason why I bought this) and lighter. The mother of pearl is so beautiful. The gold plate is subtle and lovely. I cannot stop looking at this watch. As usual, I took this to a local mall's watch repair booth and paid $20+ to remove the pieces to fit my small wrist. The Eco drive function is a wonderful idea since I switch out my watches frequently and no longer have to be concerned with dead batteries. It takes a few days for the luminescence on the hands/hours to fully charge but I didn't intentionally sit in the sun to charge the watch. It works beautifully as a timepiece. It is comfortable to wear, not too heavy or clunky, and very secure on the wrist. The two tone detailing is subtle on the band and a nice contrast from the face of the watch. The dial is just beautiful. I feel the date is a little difficult to read at some angles, it is a bit small but still attractive to the overall design of the piece. I am very pleased with this watch and the prompt service. Thank you. |
